Nearly Go Time
Well, somehow another 10 years have gone by and another 'zero' birthday has arrived, so it's time for another excellent adventure. I've been packed for weeks, but finally the departure date is THIS MONTH!
This time we have really ramped up the fabulosity - including taking the plunge and shelling out to 'turn left' on the plane. Try as I might, I just can't imagine what it will be like in reality to actually enjoy a long haul flight, rather than face it as an ordeal that must be endured to get to what awaits at the end. We're flying Emirates on the 380, and yes, that's the one with the bar! And, they give you pyjamas to wear while you are sleeping! I mean, it seems like a great way to begin an adventure right? I will report back...
If you have followed our travels before, you will now that we have never really been "let's just wing it" travellers. Pre-planning research this time suggested that there are a lot more people travelling than ever before, and heaps of post-Olympics holiday-makers expected across Europe. It seemed even more sensible than ever to make sure our bucket list bookings were sorted. And of course, the researching and planning is part of the fun of a trip for us.
So much has been pre-done that the trusty spreadsheet just wasn't cutting it in the end, so Toni suggested creating an itinerary to drop all the deets into one document for us, and to share with family and friends. So, I have made a gorgeous itinerary document and published it as an online book. I have to admit, when I read through the finished document, I have to give myself a wee shake - it really does look like a MOST Excellent Adventure.
