Day 22 - Puglia: Tony's Day - Polignano a Mare
After the parking stresses of yesterday we decided to give ourselves even more time for parking today, only to arrive and find it a piece of cake. That left us an hour to kill before our coastal boat trip, but as it was 11am on a sunny day...Aperol spritz time! Then all aboard for a motor up the coast to see Polignano a Mare from the ocean. There was a big swell after all the stormy weather that has been rattling around the Aegean, but the water was still warm so we anchored for a swim just south of Monopoli. After the swim it was time for lunch and drinks. Unfortunately Barb wasn't able to partake as she had a bit of motion sickness to manage, so forwent the lunch and headed to the bow where she could keep her eyes on the horizon. It worked a treat, but she missed out on some great boat food. Another of the guests was actually sick, so perhaps he should have followed her lead.
After returning, we drove into Polignano a Mare to see it from the shore. Another gorgeous old town, this time perched on the clifftops. We ticked off all the must-see views and then found a restaurant overlooking the ocean for early dinner and more people watching. It is apparently an essential activity for every day here, so we are only being respectful of local custom! After a post-meal wander and weary from the sea and sun, we headed back to the masseria for an early nightcap and called it a day. It's been another good one, but we all managed to get a bit sunburnt today - the Italian sun is definitely more fierce that it was when we were in Croatia, even though it is about 10 degrees cooler.

Love your pics xx
