Day 8 - Boat Life
Today we left Dubrovnik on our cruise. First though we had to lug our bags down our 3 flights of stairs then back up to Ploce Gate, as no vehicles are allowed inside the city walls. We were actually quite impressed with ourselves though, we must already be getting fitter. Today more massive cruise ships disgorged into the city, their passengers move in packs and seem to have no spatial awareness. Being polite has no affect, I finally figured out that the only way through was to walk straight at them without making eye contact and they part like the Red Sea.
No crowds on the boat though, just 34 passengers...and a sea breeze, bliss! We unpacked and settled in for our 3 course welcome lunch as we set sail for Korcula. Time for a read and a nap as we gently motored north.
At 7pm, we had moored and were taxi-boated to Korcula town for the evening. Another fairy tale place. We wandered, had a beer (still not hungry after lunch) and I couldnt resist a wee paddle in the water, which is surprisingly warm. We will be back here in the morning for a walking tour, but were so pleased to have seen it at night.
